We had guests on the boat for a weekend this past summer and decided to sleep in the V-Berth. We found it quite cramped. (I am 5'11"). Has anyone made modifications to increase the V-Berth length on the (1994) H33.5?

Are you thinking about expanding the bed aft toward the doorm buying a new mattress and modifying the cabinetry?

A pocket door, a dutch door, a curtain or reverse the opening direction, then you can fill the added space with a drop in board, make a mattress extension out of foam, you're good to go. Try just removing the door first... and see if there's enough comfort improvement before you start cutting stuff up.

Thanks. This was kind of what I had in mind. A hinged drop board and a cutout in the V-mattresses so that they can be slid forward by about 12" for sleeping and pushed back during the day. Just wondering if anyone had actually implemented such a mod on their boat. An extra piece of foam to cover the drop board as you suggest could also work.
