Need to un-step the mast for new standing rigging. Anyone know if the mast is attached to the foot on the cabin top and the boot has to be unbolted, or does it just sit on the foot and is lifted off when un-stepping? Cheers from down under!
On our 92 30T, the mast sits in the shoe without any fastener, so it just lifts out once the standing rigging is disconnected.
At the top of the compression post in the saloon, there should be an access panel where the mast wiring jumpers are located. Make sure to take some pictures and make a diagram before you disconnect the wiring.
Thanks Art - as you describe, the mast just sat on the base, located by a through bolt sitting in a grove in the base - she's off now and away for re-rigging. I'm replacing the anchor/steaming mast head lights with LEDs and bought a new Raymarine Wind vane to replace the original, bird chewed unit. Cheers from down under!
