Here goes nothin'
Thanks for the link Mike! It's downloading now. When I had the forestay made up, they slid thconnector/bearings on the cable before puttingthe ends on. The foils will slide on over the threaded stud end of the stay. The trick is to slide the connectors through the foils as you slide them on, which is one thing I havn't quiteworked out yet. I'm thinking a long piece of wireshould do the trick. After I get the end foil cutto the correct length, I'm planing on taking allthe pieces out to the dock and assemble them on thewalkway. I'll raise the whole thing up using the spinaker halyard (jib halyard is now taking placeof the forestay) the revearse of how I took the oldsystem down. The part I'm worried about is putting akink in a foil or bending a connector as I'm raising it.On a Chrysler 26, I had installed a roller furler ontoa forestay that was allready up by sliding the foils upone at a time. I liked that method much better but I thik the system on this H31 might be too heavy and bulkyto do it that way. Taking down the mast is not an optionhere as he boat would have to be hauled and cost too muchat this point. I'm not crazy about climbing the mast solo, especially with just the jib halyard holding it up, butthat's the cards I'm delt. Does anyone have any words of wisdom about he best way to install and rig this roller furler?ThanksJeff
