Good morning!
So, while checking on Bedouin while she's on the hard I noticed some leakage in the aft cabin. Seems to have seeped along the cabin wall under the aft port-side overhead panel. And there was also some that seemed to have originated just starboard-of-center behind the aft cabin partition. Not much - it's not like the cabin flooded. But enough to make the mattress pretty wet, resulting in a manic mold/mildew removal campaign. The water puddles appeared a bit rust-brown and not clear, by the way.
Anyway, I removed the overhead panel, managed to stick my head through, and shone a light around, but everything seemed dry. Examining the upper side of the panel (the side which would be hidden from view when installed) I noticed what appeared to be dried rust-brownish spatter that looked like the water must have dripped directly from above before seeping past the panel cover. The only thing I see right above the panel, though, is the port-side mount of the arch. The bolts didn't feel wet, but I'm still a bit suspicious.
I have read other posts where folks with similar boats have had leakage via the wiring from the binnacle where it comes through the cockpit flooring. But I'm wondering if anybody else has has a similar leakage issue on a 306 and has wisdom to impart?
I apologize for the rambling post, but it's a bit hard to describe without seeing it. Thanks in advance for any pointers!
Nick
