Has anyone removed/replaced the domestic hot water heater? Mine is located under the bunk seat next to the sink. After removing lots of screws I'm wondering if its possible without a jig-saw?! Hopefully yours Patrick in Port Charlotte

Jig saw... it is a part of boat equipment...
I had it done this summer. I ordered new tank from heater manufacturer and had also heater taken apart and tank replaced with new. Send me an e-mail describing what hold you up. I don't want to make public comment about "in-boat assembly". I know it is a non sense, but you have to remove good 20-30 screws (if not more) before tank is free to move out. Jig-saw will make your life easier. I used it then reworked heater hold-down arrangement. I expect to replace those 30 screws with (2) hinges and a lock next summer. Will use jig-saw again.... what a shame. Jerzy, "Free Spirit".

I had no problem replacing the original water heater with an identical Seaward tank. All I needed was a power screwdriver to remove the screws holding the seat over the tank and it was no problem after that. I know another H-30T owner who also replaced his tank by removing the seat and he mentioned no unusual problems were encountered. Incidentally, after I replaced the tank I discovered the pressure relief valve leaked water when the tank heated up. I telephoned Seaward and they readily sent me a replacement valve without any cost to me.
