Hey how about one of you new H290 owners doing a review. Curious about the boat. I haven't seen it in person just the reviews from sail mags. Would be nice to hear how an owner rates the boat.
I got to try the 290 on a demo sail at the Tidewater Marina open house in Havre De'Grace. It sailed/handled well(sailed for about an hour)in about 8-12 knots of wind, 18hp is more than enough motor, interior is nice and comfy considering the size. Only negative comment if you consider it one is, if you are going to go 290, why not go to the 320 or 340 unless it is a price issue.
I just posted a review of the H290 based on seven days of living aboard! Summary: The H290 is an excellent entry boat for weekending or short coastal passages. We love our boat!
I have had my 2000 290 since February and I would rate it very good. Handles very well under power or sail. Plus, lots of cabin / headroom for a 29 foot boat. My "head" related seacocks are hard to get to, but I don't have to get to often. I would say "lotta boat for the buck"!
