I am contemplating changing my engine mounts myself once I got the quote from our marina yard. Has any one here done their own on an H29.5? If so what advice can you share.
I have done lots of online research and it seems pretty straight forward. I am very mechanically inclined and I'm sure we can get them changed over but there is nothing like having advice from someone who has been there.

I've thought of doing it too. You go first and let us know how it is. I think using scissor jack to raise one side of the engine to remove a mount could be one way. But then its just a thought and I haven't the experience ...yet. You go first. :)

Ordered the mounts today. Just got to figure on how I'm going to lift engine. Some type of jack I suppose, not much room under there. Thought about removing the cowl and lifting from above if I can figure a way to support a pulley system. Anyway I keep you posted. Guess it's going to be a lessons learned project. We'll see if the yard cost is worth it in the first place.

hey, guys, I hired the yard crane last year for the initial install, but had to remove to do some shaft work. I used 2- 2x6,es nailed together across the hatch opening and a come-along and lifted it onto a dolly and rooled int my gally. If you attach the chain correctly to the front you can probably do those 2 first, pivoting on the rears. Some people use boom to lift, I prefered the other wf the double 2x6...Red

Mounts changed. Hardest part was the shaft bolts. Two came of with much difficulty. Two came off partially, sawsall took care of them. Used a small scissor jack from Northern Tool with a piece of wood between the jack and oil pan. About an hour to change out the mounts. All that's left to do is the alignment. Yard estimated 18hrs labor. I have about 4hrs invested so far.
