My galley sink pump broke and after checking these forums I decided to replace it with a Fynspray or Whale Flipper pump. How do I connect the pump to the Whale quick connect plumbing on the Hunter 260? I'm guessing I'll need a Whale connector that will connect to a 1/2" hose and then connect the pump to the hose. Does that sound right? Thanks.

Water Pump Connection

There are a lot of great things about the H260, but the hand pump water faucets are not one of them. The faucets that come with the boat never worked for me and the quick disconnect fittings leaked. In addition, there is no easy way to empty or clean the water tank - as a result, algae builds up in the system and the water gets stale. You have the right idea, but you'll have to enlarge the hole and make sure the splices don't leak. I first installed the Finspray faucets but still had problems with leaks - decided to start over. Using the experience of others, I installed a pressurized water system. This involved replacing the water lines, installing a pump and inline filters, new faucets and adding an access hole to the tank. I got all the fittings and tubing from Home depot and the shurflow pump and faucets from West Marine. The whole project went together in a day. Go to: http://kobernus.com/hunter260/water/water.html

Water Pump - Thanks

Thanks George. I'll see how the Fynspray works for me. Your web site is an excellent resource for us H260 owners.

I'll second Georges pres water sys being tops.

One of the single best improvements to our 260 has been taking out the sink hand pump faucets and leaky plumbing and putting in a simple pressurized sys. I was apprehensive about how tough it would be but it went in easily(1 day) thanks to the help of others posting their experiences here. Go for it you won't be sorry. Michael and Kelli
