Depends in how tight you like to ball up. Hopefully someone will explain how to use the table for more sleeping area. Our previous owner cut the table to give more room in the cabin while not sleeping. We have the cut off section but haven't tried "making up the bed" yet. I'm 5' 10". I can't stretch out up there. We plan to use the rear berth.

Kermit;

Take 20,000 catepillars and tat mite work. Ha.

The table sits on a pin located underneath that table which is inserted thru the compression post. You simply pull the table up and rotate it and the lip rests in the recessed area at the beginning of the V berth fiberglass.

Privately send me a photo of what you have and let me put my beanie weenie hat on to think about what to advise.

My table is cut down to a circle which is all you really need. To use the forward bunk ( it's my first choice ). I have a 4.5ft OSB board that i shaped for the bow stowed under the forward mattress. Move it over the table and use the forward back rests as a mattress filler and you have a comfy bed. The aft bunk if your moored with a stern line can have too much hull/ water noise.

The table is designed to be lifted and routated around to mate with the forward bunk.

I like the space this opens up around the galley and head, so I leave the table in the forward position. I also remember it took considerable effort to lift the table out of the pin notch to allow it to rotate.

Once in position, the cushions from the curved seating under the table can be placed on top. There are even straps that run under the cushions to keep them linked.

This allows a good 8' of berth, to answer the original question.

I'd love to see pictures along with dimensions. I realize I'm asking a lot, but dang I'd love it if you would do that for us. Thanks!

I personally love the aft bunk. I don't find it difficult. I use the forward vbirth for storage. The previous owner had cut the table down and made one half of it fold down. Works well. He also has a board that he stores under the cushions and it works like the others have mentioned. I don't have pics and can't get any until this white stuff disappears.

An ex H260 owner, Soling42, showed me his mod which I love! It is on my list of to do's for this year. I will install so it sets up on the opposite side of where my table drops so you will be able to almost walk up to it and slide on. I don't think it will work for two, unless...well, but for one I think it is awesome. Here is the link with Mike's pics.

When I'm out their next I'll take a photo. I used the curvature of the couch, rounded the edges and ended up with a really comfy bed that's easier to get into than the original and is wider at the compression post.

Has anyone found a way of reducing the hull/ water noise on the aft berth. I am moving both batteries to the port/stern locker and hope to box in the starboard one for storage.

Here's more about our sleeping accommodations. The previous owner made the cushions that cover the table. He also cut the big end off of the table to free up space in the cabin. As you can see in the picture, two cushions go around the compression post and the other fits on top of the cut off piece of the table. We drop the table and it fit perfectly in grooves that are hidden by the seat cushions. The grooves even support the cut-off end extremely well. We plan to sleep there this weekend. In fact, we will leave the table in the sleeping position until we see we need to use the table as a table. Although it's not hard to reconfigure, we like the way it looks right now and see no need to put it back up until we need to.

I don't know exactly what happened to the original support mechanism for the table, but the table had legs when we bought the boat. I hated those legs because they were always in the way. So I found this project on the H260 mod page and built it. Works like a charm and is removable. I used both of these pages to figure it out, so I suggest you study both if you decide to do this.

Since the table was cut, I found no way to extend the v-berth with the table. We think we're going to be pretty dang happy with this sleeping arrangement.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Particularly if I've left out that one nagging little detail you wish I had given you.

Just figured this out today. I'll explain more in the morning. Nighty night, y'all.
Man I have wanted to do this to my table for 10 years. That looks really nice. Maybe this is the year :D
