The table is designed to be lifted and routated around to mate with the forward bunk.
I like the space this opens up around the galley and head, so I leave the table in the forward position. I also remember it took considerable effort to lift the table out of the pin notch to allow it to rotate.
Once in position, the cushions from the curved seating under the table can be placed on top. There are even straps that run under the cushions to keep them linked.
This allows a good 8' of berth, to answer the original question.
