This morning I was out waxing my boat and I saw my hull serial number "HUNF0982E102". I know that the "HUN" stands for the manufacturer, Hunter, and the last number "2" stands for the model year. Anyone know what the rest of the information stands for? Thanks, Bob

I'll take a stab at it

Crazy Dave will probably correct me on this but here's what I think it means. HUN = Hunter F = Some kind of a model designation? not really sure. 0982 = Hull number i.e. your boat was the 982nd h260 made. E1 = Date manufactured E is the month. A being Janurary B being Feburary and so on. So it was made May of 2001 02 = Sold as a 2002 model.

HP?

I don't know for sure, but I thought the max horsepower was supposed to be in there somewhere (10).

Hull Identification Numbers

Phil, Crazy Dave and all the rest, Have you ever wondered where your boat falls in the relative production run from Hunter? Just for fun I pulled up the owner's directory for 2003 260's: Of 19 listings, two were double entries. Seven owners had included their hull #. Jim White had the earliest listed hull at # 0046. George Kobernus had the oldest listed hull at # 0089. What about the rest of you 2003 owners? Crazy Dave, does the number series start over with each new model year?
