I would like to add a pedestal guard to my H260. I'm not sure how to size it out. Could someone who has one on their 260 post the size. Mine is tucked away for winter and I can't get at it. I seem to think that it should be 1" tubing and 9 1/2" wide X 54" high. I got these sizes off their web page assuming this is the proper pedestal.

Thanks.

You probably have the edson 325 if recall that system correctly. However, the guards are standard tubes which there are basically two for this. It will depend on what you are planning to do as to height but if it is for hand hold only, then just get the standard size.

You can get them from this site and the folks at the store site can help. Prices are about the same anywhere you go and I would stick with this site since they know your boat.

Take a look at my profile. There is a good shot of the guard in my photo on the front page. As Crazy Dave states, this is standard SS tube at 1" dia. I recall the distance between the two to be 10" on center.

Hunt around for a used one. Craig's List, eBay, sailing forums. I found a used one, looked new, $50 on CF. Included FedEx.

Love the added hand hold it provides walking up and over the cockpit seats. Makes for a much more enjoyable sailing experience, without denting the bank account.

First image is at sellers location, second image is on my Crealock CM 32

I purchased pre-Sandy. There should be about 35,000 pedistal guards for sale all up and down the East Coast about now. Why purchase a new one?

Edson wants 70 bucks plus for the base mounts for their pedistal guard. Nuts to that, I went to Amazon and purchased crutch tips, 1" works perfectly, looks great. 3 bucks.
