When we sit at the helm of our H260, we don't feel like we can see over the bow, so we sit on two custions. The helm seat is an odd shape. I haven't liked any of the seats I've seen in the stores. Does anyone have any leads? Thanks,

Check out helm cushions in the store

Hi Frank, At the expense of being commercial, check out the helm cushions we carry in the HOW Chandlery. I have listed the link below. There are standard sizes quotes there, but they can be made in any size to meet your needs (you can also choose from several colos). If you are interested, contact our Chandlery Master Karisa MacLachlan. She can be reached via email at Karisa@SailboatOwners.com.

Cooler works for me

I've got it to where it's perfect, if you don't mind getting up everytime the crew wants a beverage. Actually, now that I think about it, it's an effective method of monitoring their (sometimes overabundant) intake! I use tie-downs with hooks attached from the handles to the aft cleats. Those handles take a lot of pressure while heeling, and tend to pop out. I've since used a nut and bolt arrangement to secure them and it seems to be OK. This puts you high enough to see over the cabin. Good Luck!

Not cheap, but works great.

Frank, We bought the saddle helm seat from the HOW site. It works great, even when heeled over. (although I tend to stand) It has enough grip to keep it in place. We only had it for the last half of the season but it never budged. I believe it lists for $133.

Try West Marine

I bought a white folding cushioned marine seat about 3 years ago. It is about 4 to 6 inched thick and about 18 to 20 inches wide. I use two marine cushions one underneath the seat and one behind it. I bungee the chair to the stern rail. It works for me.
