Anyone know the weight capacity in people, as well as the number of people, of a 260? Strictly speaking, should the weight of the outboard, the gasoline, sail covers, cushions, etc. be deducted from the posted weight capacity?
For from memory the manual says 8 people but the CE plate fixed to the head wall says 9 people. Or perhaps it's the other way around. Not sure about total weight tho but will check out tonight and post the answer.
I know what the plate says but we had eight people in our H26 last summer and it was pretty crowded. The wind was blowing pretty strong and had reefed the sail. I didn't feel real comfortable the way the boat was handling so I turned her into the wind and dropped the sails. I won't take more than six(including me and my wife) from now on. rather be cautious than sorry. Paul H S/V Linda Belle 95 H26
