Has anyone installed an Anchor Roller on their H260? What size is required?

Hunter 260 Bow Roller

I found an anchor bow roller that fits perfectly. I purchased a WINDLINE # AR-3 model. It measures 11" long and 13/4' wide. It Handles up to 1" line. The West Marine Catalog # is 153593. It fits neatly into the opening on the starboard side of the anchor box. NOTE. If your going to install a bow roller yourself make sure you take your time drilling through the gel coat layer. In this area on a Hunter 260 you will be required to drill and "tap" through a metal plate. Just make sure you drill a smaller hole than required and then "Tap" through the the metal plate with the size tap required. My bow roller required three # 3/8" bolts. Also, prior to drilling the holes make sure the rode and anchor line miss (don't rub) the rub rail on the boat. Oh yea, the most important part....This bow roller cost $69.99 in the West Marine catalog. If you require any additional information relating to the Hunter 260 you can contact me at java@apci.net. Safe Anchoring, Wayne

Check with hunter

Hunter can probably supply the part you need. I ordered my boat with the optional bow roller installed from the factory. Fair winds... Tom

Extended Bow Roller

I also installed the AR-3 bow roller from West Marine and I opted to extend it out maybe another 6" by mounting it on a 1 3/4" wide plate so that my anchor can hang at ready from the pulpit rail directly above so that anyone can release it, let it fall and drop clear of the hull. I had to install an 8" access port on the inside wall of the locker and remove a small amount of foam just below the rode guide molded into the hull to firmly bolt the extetion plate along with the AR3 in place. I also added a metal support that rests underneath the AR3 and butts up against the top of the rub rail. A little more trouble but was worth it. If you want more detail my email is chapsail@cs.com. The Hunter factory equipment may be much better--haven't seen it.
