A couple of things…
Can’t tell from the picture for sure, but is the forestay tight?It shouldn’t have much of a bend, if at all. If it does, tighten the side stays per suggested posts (see archives).Secondly, you mentioned another jib. Keep in mind the H26260 is a main driven boat. If the headsail is anything above 100% - the boat will be overpowered and the rigging location will not match the sail size. Which brings me to…Thirdly, (I know, I said a couple of things), the H26 has a single point on the deck for the jib sheet to block through. Certainly a limitation. It doesn’t pull the jib down enough when close to the wind – not far enough outboard to run with the wind. A happy medium was chosen for it’s attachment. That’s OK in most points of sail, but improvements can be made. I’m planning to install a track for the jib block before next year. Will post pictures and note any improvements when I’ve completed the project.
