I have a H26 and the trailer is missing the left guide at the rear. I also need both fenders. I would also like any modifications people may have that make the trailer more useable.

My guess is the guide post you will have to manufacture, unless you can contact the trailer builder. For everything else i've had good experiences with www.easternmarine.com

Talked to Hunter and they tell me that they had the trailers made at Quality Trailers in Florida and they do not have any parts. Neither does Quality trailers. Since the parts are galvanized it is difficult for me to have them made and galvanized so i guess it is the aftermarket hunt, search and try routine.

Trailer mods

Perhaps you can buy a galvanized pipe and have it bent. Muffler shops have pipe benders. The only mod to my trailer are these boards to guide the boat/centerboard on straight. I used the plastic/wood board used for a deck. I also replaced they winch strap with a steel cable after breaking two straps.
Last summer I had all the springs replaced as one had a broken and missing leaf and one was cracked. This spring I am replacing all the bearings and seals. I have two leaking inner seals and it's not that costly to replace everthing. Plus we will be doing some long distance hauls this summer.

What's wrong with your fenders? They look ok in the picture.

The Fenders I Believe are Kinda a Standard Size

The upright could be made without too much trouble by a fabricator especially since you have a model to work from.

This is a good time to warn others about checking the bolts holding the guide posts and the fenders on. They are all undersized and will vibrate loose. I went up a size on the bolt and put locknuts on them.

You don't need an exact copy (other than for looks), just the right positioning. I built a set of guides for my H23 trailer, which didn't come with them. I found some square aluminum tubing, about 2 inches across, and made an "L" shaped bracket, the horizontal arm of which slides into a square cross-tube on my trailer. PVC pipe slips into the vertical arm as the hull guide.

If you can find a size of PVC pipe that fits fairly well inside the vertical support pipes on the trailer, maybe you could use that, plus a few of the 22 degree (or 45 degree, if needed or better) couplers and just glue together a facsimile. PVC is not expensive.

Thanks for all the input. I have the tall guide post issue addressed thanks to all. I took the fenders off and spent several hours hammering and bending them back in shape. Quite a chore but the results were satisfactory for now. The fenders had been bent by the previous owner while trying to load the boat in cross winds.

As soon as I get the boat back on the trailer I hope to find some bunker boards that will allow easier loading and unloading in windy conditions (as well as protecting the fenders and boat from collisions). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I like the idea of the keel guide. Do you think this may put any undue stress on the keel in crosswinds? I wouldn't think it would be any more stress than is applied with the keel extended and sailing.

My next step is to replace all the rusty galvanized bolts and nuts and replace the tires with Goodyear marathons, and the wheels with galvanized spoke wheels.

I've never had upright guides, just use the CB guide which is perfectly capable of guiding the hull into place. Unless your ramp is completely exposed to open water loading it shouldn't beat your boat at the ramp. Here's my setup. Good luck and have a safe season.

I agree the posts are not really intended for guiding the boat but to assist in knowing where the trailer is when backing down the ramp and aiming the boat. I really like your set up and will do a similar installation today. I'll get some pics of the finished product and thanks to all.

The H23 trailer has keel guides sort of like those pictures, except they are closer to the keel - since the H23 (well, most of them) has a winged iron keel, the wings slide under the guides. I can't imagine they stress the boat any more than sailing forces, assuming you mean from something like crosswinds.
