Should the upper shroud be connected to the forward chainplate and the lower shroud to the aft chainplate? This seems to be the way that the diagrams in the owner's manual indicates however I have seen various pictures suggesting the opposite.
You are correct that it was done both ways successfully but the traditional method of attachement of turnbuckles to the shroud chain plates was the upper to the rear and the lower to the forward hole. However, a lot will determine how much stud length there is in the turnbuckle body. Hope this helps sir.
