I have replaced the O-Rings in the factory faucets a couple of years in a row now. These inexpensive Flipper style faucets chew the seals up. Has anyone retrofitted a better manual or electric unit into the existing holes in the counter tops? My creud system still uses the original small blatters under each sink. I'm not opposed to installing a tank,located perhaps under the V-Berth and any necessary 12V electic. I believe that is where Hunter places the tanks on the H260's. Any advice would be appreciated. Jeff, A blatter of reasonable size mounted
in the V berth storage area could feed both sinks and foot pumps or pumping type faucets could be used in place of electrical pumps. You would be totally frightened by the ammount of water wasted when electric pumps come into play. I just replaced my original fuacets with some from the R/V dealer. Much cheaper than Marine store. Ray

Ray.....Any Alterations?
Did you have to change the hole size in the counter top at all. In looking through the West Marine catalog it is difficult to determine the base size of any particular faucet. How did you handle this. Trail and error. Also, I would like to hear from you regarding your head installation. I'm listed in the owners directory. Jeff Morrison "Festivity" 1996 H26

More water
We cruise on our H-26 for up 10 days and needed more water storage than a few gallons. I installed a soft-sided tank under the V-berth with the inlet mounted forward of the window. I ran the outlet line to a Shurflo 12 V pump and a Whale faucet. I have generally pleased with the results although the water does tend to take on a "plastic" taste. I have tried baking soda to remove the taste with limited success.

h26 faucets
The factory faucets in my h26 were cheap and needed constant repair. I replaced the galley faucet with a foot pump type and the head faucet with a double action hand pump. Both from West Marine. I am happy with both. They will last the life of the boat. David King

Fresh water installation
Hi Jeff, I had to change my faucets too and installed a soft tank under the v-berth. The inlet is placed in the anchor-locker. Very easy to fill that way. And its big enough to feed both sinks. Its operated with foot-pumps (because I always want robust systems that I can rely on). I had to fill up the old big faucet-holes with plastic-padding before installation. This works perfectly for me and the only thing I have to worry about is to use the water and not letting it stand for weeks in the tank. Toomas

I installed a 13 gallon bladder in the v-berth, ran the outlet to an in-line water filter, then split it to the two sinks. I’m still using (and repairing) the original faucets (’98), but have noticed that they are wearing the metal components now, not just chewing up the “O” rings. I’ve shied away from power as the consumption would be to high for the cruising we do. Like the idea of the foot pumps, but seems that they would be in the way. The water going through the filter is tolerable to drink, but we usually throw 4 gallon jugs of drinking water in front of the bladder for drinking. With that, we can go a week between fill ups.

Electric Faucets, but don't go in.
Jeff, Several years ago I installed a 25 gallon tank, electric pump, and the electric faucets that turn on the pump when needed, and it all works great But whatever you do, do not climb down into the compartment under the V-berth unless you are very strong, and have some rubber gloves so you can get back out. I did this to install the tank and pump, but when it came time to get out there is nothing to brace against, and the sides are so smooth it is next to impossible to get out. We were almost ready to call EMS, when we came up with the idea to use books to make a base so I could get up and out of the locker.
