I want to add a deck organizer (2 sheave) and rope clutch to the Port deck, basically same setup as on the starboard side. Did Hunter install wood or some other re-enforcements in the deck already? WHat is the best way to attach these?

Thanks,

Marcel

Assuming the 26 is the same as the 260 there are aluminum backing plates embedded in the deck for all the hardware. The locations and size are shown on this drawing:

Standard installation was to drill and tap a threaded hole through the aluminum plate. You can also through bolt with a washer/nut on the inside if you have access.

I've done this.... got pics someplace. Added three organizers and three clutches to the port side of my H26. Easy peasy. There are aluminum backing plates already glassed into the deck. Just use a hand held tap/dye to make the holes into the aluminum plates and then thread them with the dye kit. I have pics someplace... let me know if you need me to dig them up. I called the SBO store and they helped me find the exact right size to fit on the plate. I ran everything to the cockpit.... reef lines, topping lift etc. It was the second best upgrade I made to sail handling. First-best was a traveler across the companionway bridge deck.

That deck metal blueprint is worth a million. Where'd you come by that?

Under "Boat Info" on the left menu bar, then select your model and then "Downloads". There is a deck metal drawing for the 240 there also which should be very similar to your 23.5
