Sorry to say, it seems like it is a waste of time writing to folks about the 26.5, as I have never gotten any reply. I have written sevearl responses to questions and submitted articals with out hardly any response, or so much as a simple thanks for a detailed reply to a question. From our stand-point we can deduce that......
most Hunter 26.5 owners are a bunch of unfriendly bastards. There are 52 other H'26.5's registered out there and non of them have replied yet. Buy a H'31 or a H'34 and post some questions, you won't be shunned. PS: If you know what is good for you, you won't tell anyone on the Cruising World BB that you own ANY Hunter.

Phil, I did not intend this to be a smart ass commment, nor did I expect like responses. I have over the last six months or so made an attempt to offer and respond to comments on the H26.5(Which own and have probably allready done more to then many owners have ever done). I did want to reflect my disappointment with the forum. While everyone is cretainlly free to do as they chose. I believe in coutious conduct regardless of the setting. If I ask a question and someone takes the time to answer, I would at least send a thank you to acknowledge reciept. One thing that impressed me years ago with this page was the willingess to share information, and I looked forward to doing so when I baught this boat. Incidently, as a structural engineer I have long felt that Hunter has gotten a bad rap and are sound boats that are a good value. Good sailing.
