Not sure how long that cable is. Do you have extra cable length that you could put a loop in it which would allow you to turn with the engine on? I did that with my customers/

Thank you all for your replies and inputs! I will talk with the dealer about obtaining (or making) setbacks for the motor. I think that will probably be the easiest/cost effective way to solve this.

@Crazy Dave Condon, I think the cable is long enough. Sorry if the picture isn't very clear. The issue is not the length of cable. The problem is that when the motor is tilted into the up position, the red circled linkage goes below the clearance of the motor well. I would have taken a picture of this but the battery had just died and the power tilt was not working.

Looks like the well is narrower on the 260 than it is on the H26

If you get your dealer to make new brackets get rid of some of the down tilt so that you can tilt your motor up further.

Just leaving my slip into a very narrow channel never designed with sailboats in mind .
The dink tied hard to the swim platform . Full port rudder , put it in forward and the EZSteer bolt on the outboard shears . Idle and straighten outboard. Add a few more grey hairs .
Sailing is full of Murphy moments.

Suggest taking the bracket to a metal fabrication shop but do not extend too much further for strength unless the stainless steel is thicker. The suggestion to change the angle is good.
