H240 Tiller extension Clip help

Hello, I have a Hunter 240, 1990 year model. I broke my tiller extension clip, the one which comes standard on the boat. I am having trouble finding a replacement and have only found one place where I could get it, yet they have a $30 minimum order and all I need is the clip. A picture of the clip is below and the web site of the store with the $30 minimum is also below. I would prefer to get the same clip so I don't want to re-drill any new holes in the tiller. Does anyone know where I may order just the clip. It is red, and pointed at the fore and aft ends. Any help would be appreciated. Regards, Daniel

Broke mine too

I broke the clip on my tiller extension too. I could not find just the clip so I use a velcro wire tie to hold the extension against the tiller when not in use. The ties can be had at Home Depot or Radio Shack.

I just bought two replacements for less than $3.00 at West Marine. They were not with the tillers. The ones I bought were in the section where you can get bimini poles. They come in 3 different diameter sizes. I'm sure Boat US also carries them.

If you do not have a store close by and you cannot find them, ask sean coerse to give you my email but not on the forum and I will send you one.

Thanks Guys for the help. I did order the Ronstan part, RF1135-16, but while it may be the correct size to fit the tiller handle, it was different than the one which was on the boat and thus the screws did not match up I would have had to re-dirll new ones, and fill the old. Thus.... why I am trying to get a original replacement. I don't know if the ones at West Marine would work or not. They do not have them at the store in town and there is no picture avaliable on their web site. I was hesitant to order ones again and not have them be right. But..... I did call Hunter and asked if they know of a place to get them and the pleasent fellow on the phone just asked for my address and said he would send me one out ! Very impressive indeed. I am looking forward to getting the part I need and really appreciate Hunter Marine's customer service. Thanks also to Crazy Dave for the kind offer. If I end up not getting the part in the mail from Hunter or its not the right one....I will take you up on your kind offer. My thanks again to all of you and Hunter Marine. Great to have the boat back in the slip and ready for another season. Cheers, Daniel
