I'm re-tuning our mast from scratch. I've researched here, and have been in communication with Crazy Dave on the process. It's all been very helpful.

I haven't found any references to the toggles on the spreader support lines. What is the purpose of these in terms of the mast position and shape? Are they only there to support the spreaders, and how tight should they be?

I'm having a hard time picturing what you mean by "toggles on the spreader support lines".

Turnbuckles often referred as V -1 Hand tighten only. You will note a curve of the mast on opposite side if over tuning. The 26 does not have them

Dave answered your question on tightness... your second question... no they do not support the speader, they minimize athwartship mast bend

Thanks to both of you. I'm still trying to eliminate some of the bend in the mast. It still looks kinda bendy to my eye.

Bend in the mast, it's called rake. I had mine tuned by a Hunter dealer and it looks like I have a little bit more than you do. I can't find it right now but Hunter recommends how many degrees of rake you should have. It really has to do with what your trying to accomplish buy making this adjustment to the mast.
