Has anyone installed a track for the Jib blocks on an H240? I have a CDI furler, and it would be nice to be able to move the blocks forward and aft to create better sheeting angles when furling. With the molded headliner I don't know how you would access the track from the inside of the boat to secure it with a backing plate.

It's not just a furler that needs a track. The block position on my H23.5 is more suited to my storm jib than the factory supplied sail. However; it looks like the sheet will need to move outside the lifelines to get a proper shape for a 120 or larger sail. Maybe just a second set of blocks would be a compromise? When you get it perfected, please post the results

I've wondered
I have been wondering the same thing but more in regard to placing cam cleats further aft, so that I may reach them without letting go of the tiller. I have thought of using an inspection port on the headliner to insert a backing plate that may be the most simple way to go. If any one else has done this on their boat I would appreciate hearin how it was done.

Jib/genoa tracks
The problem installing these tracks is due to the fact that you have no access through the head liner. Further the head liner is not completely bonded to the main deck. I have seen on other boats holes large enough drilled through the headliner to accept for example a 1/2 inch pipe whether aluminum or stainless steel for a bolt to come through with washer and nut being attached. This does not look good inside the boat unless the tube just stops at the same level of the headliner. IF not, watch out for your head or ouch!

240 Jib Blocks
I started racing my boat this year, and I have found that I need more sail in light air. So, I have spent much time thinking this on through. I think that if you remove the existing jib block, and clam cleat, that you could install a track between the two. Boat US sells a track that does not need a lot of fastners. I think its one every three feet, which would be perfect. I plan to take the thing apart over the weekend to case it out. I will post the results! RHudson72@aol.com "summerluvin'"

if anything like our 26.5, virtually impossible to do without removing outer deck entirely unless you want bolts and strengthening plates along the roof of your cabin and more. there is records of this in the archives for the 26.5 - maybe the same for your craft. ed.
