I was looking through the owners pics and noticed some boats with the pushpits. i am redoing my lifelines and wanted to do a double lifeline with a pushpit if i could figure a way. my boat just has the single that is of little real use. does anyone know where a oem type pushpit could be had? fabricating something ranges between very costly or very amateurish looking.

H23 Transom Rail

William, I added stern rails on my 85 H23. I bought the 2 stern stancions for a Capri 22. They have the right form factor and they were not obtrusive. They only cost about $55.00 for the pair so they were inexpensive. I re-enforced the transom and thru-bolted them. Unfortunately, the're only single line but that was fine for me. Let us know what you do.. /Chuck S/V Windsongs 85 H23

Capri 22 stern stanctions

adding 2 stanctions, single or double, and bringing the lifelines back there really isn't a problem. i can get both stainless tube and a footing that will fit. (reinforcing this stanction to take the continious strain of a tight lifeline is a bit of an engineering challange tho). the part that is a little hard to do is get a piece that has a bend to conform to the curve of the transom. ideally i would like to just curve atound the corner and end things about 10" onto the transom. that way i would have most all of the back open for motor access, ladder access, and rudder/tiller....maybe just a unhookable cable across there. can one still find the capri stern rails? do you have a pic?

H23 stern rails

Chuck: ...did these fit pretty well? Ive wanted to do this also to my '86 H23...I really hate not having some kind of stern rails. catalina direct has the two piece stern for the Catalina 22. Any chance you have a pic of how yours fit? thanx s/v Hotspur Gig Harbor, WA

Capri 22 Stanctions

Hi Folks, Your right william, engineering the re-inforcement was a challenge since there is no obvious surface to bolt the round base. What I did was to bolt, then fireglass in oak blocks on the transom and fashioned an oak shim to make the stanction level. It worked though. As for pic's, I'm about 3 Hrs drive from the boat right now but when I go out there next (in about 2-3 wks) I can shoot some pic's and post them, sorry about the delay /Chuck S/V Windsongs H23

Contact Rail Mount

That may have been the company who used to make stern rail for the Hunter 23. Rail Mount. I do not have the phone number for them
