As some of you know, I recently purchased a new set of cushions from USYC down in St. Pete.. they come complete except for the hooks that attach to the back of the salon backrests. USYC told me they were an OEM supplied part, and I talked to Hunter and was told that they were no longer available.

The boat didn't have any cushions when I purchased it, so I have no idea what the hooks even look like.. can someone share a photo/drawing/sketch/description of them so I can fabricate or improvise something similar?

Cheers,
Brad

Brad:

On my Hunter 31 (1985) they were plastic discs that were the hook side of the velcro. Didn't USYC know where to purchase them?

Mine has the original metal hooks. Never really thought about looking carefully at them but I'll do my best to take a picture and measurements next time I'm at the boat.

I can't easily photograph or measure them, but the hooks on mine are basically flat stainless bars about an inch width and maybe 1/8 or so thick. Each hook is basically like a J in cross section, where the flat part of the J is screwed to the wood back of the back cushion and the curved part hooks over the fiddle (or whatever the vertical strip of wood is called) along each shelf. Each cushion has a pair of these, one near either end.

All you really need is something that can attach to the back of the cushion and hook over the fiddle - maybe those white plastic J shaped hooks used to hang PVC might work?

Brad, I ordered mine from this site. They came with the screw in snap heads. I never put them in and find I don't need them. Try yours and see what you think

Thanks Kermit (and everyone else).. It sure makes things easier to fabricate when you know what they are supposed to look like :)

Cheers,
Brad

PS: Did you by chance get any measurements?!? ;)

I realized when I saw that you replied that you were going to ask that. Dang! Sorry! No I didn't. :-(
