Working on a project to run main and jib halyards back to cockpit. One of the halyard goes up out of the mast while the other goes down. So I guess I'll need to redirect that line. My other thought was I need to get the yards onto deck with possibly swivel blocks. Then lead back to jammers. And lastly a #8 winch. Is this what most people have done? Any suggestions? -jim

Hi Jamboo, I recently did this to my H23

What you will need is: 1. new halyards (you can order them from the chandlery here ready measured by boat model for running back to the cockpit. 2. Two stand up blocks. 3. A deck organizer to make the 90 deg. turn back towards the cockpit. 4. A two line clutch. 5. A winch, # 7 or 8. I got the halyards here and the rest on eBay, the clutch and winch were used, the blocks and organizer new. You will also need sealant and hardware, some of it 2 1/2 inch to go through the cabin top and backing plates you will need for all this. The blocks I got had SS plates with them and I used 1/2 ply epoxied as a backer for the winch. for the turning block (organizer) I used SS fender washers. Get the hardware at the hardware store or HD. Good luck.

You mast-mount winch! My boat's PO led the main and topping lift to the cockpit. They also put the winch in front of the rope clutch (which doesn't work) I need to fix that..might as well be a standard cleat!
