Where do people mount their GPs / communications equipment / depthfinder etc in a smaller boat? The prev. owner had the depthfinder on the port cabin side, but the mainsheet tries to rip it off its mount. Now iver got some more electronics.. where could I mount them all?? Also, simple rig question..if i have an old mainsail..do i want a lot of mast bend? and what is "alot" There's a hunter 240 down the marina from me with a candy cane for a mast..i haven't seen the owner..but that can't be right. It must point backwards by abput 15-20 degrees!

Next to the companionway was where everything was mounted when I bought the boat (Compass, Depth, and a DC outlet), so I put the GPS mount therer as well. Its a Garmin GPS76, so its not big, and the higher up you can mount it the more clearance you have with the mainsheet. Most of the time, though, the GPS sits next to me in the cockpit running on batteries.
