These are follow-on questions from my first request "H23 Boom Rigging - Need Help" 1) If the long line is a topping lift, how/where on the mast is the line attached? 2) Where on the boom do the long and short lines attach? If I look at the aft end section of the boom there is a clevis pin on the top. Is there suppose to be a ring/shackle there?

The topping lift is attached to the mast head and runs into the back of the boom, comes out the front where the boom can be raised by pulling the line and the line cleated. Your clevits pin might be an adaptation by the previous owner. Some folks will put a block on the topping lift just above the rear end of the boom for a little mechanical advantage when raising the boom. As for the "long line".......unless it's your topping lift (which goes clear to the top of the mast), it's probably your reefing line since it must reach the second set of reefing points. Clear as mud eh?
