The last 2 times I have taken my H23.5, out I have had something happen that seems odd to me. At the end of the my sail, when I take the plug out of the vent hole for the water ballast, I have felt a brief rush of air come out.

When I launched, I opened the valve for the water ballast as well as the vent cover. Both have been open for a good 10 minutes or more while I putt over to a dock next to the boat ramp, go back and park the trailer, then finish a few last preparations before I set sail. I have then closed the valve and the put the plug in the vent, and set out.

When I returned a couple of hour later, as I mentioned, when I opened the vent (valve still closed), I felt a brief rush of air coming out.

Anybody have any ideas what's going on?

Charles's law

It's warmer when you are coming back in than when you left so the water in the tank expanded or it's fermenting somthing in there.

Mine does the same thing dont worry.

That is the same reason it can be a bitch to open an ammo can in the winter.

Also, as you slosh the water around, dissolved gases come out of the water. Like when you shake up a glass of water and it foams on top. At least that's my thought.

After you fill your tank, water sloshes around in an enclosed space creating friction with the tank lining and amongst itself. Friction creates heat, heat expands water and air, water does not compress but air does soooo puff, air rushes out when the vent hole is opened. Just have to figure out how you can use this to help inflate your sail.
