I was rebedding the stanchions on my 23.5 and one screw on the bow pulpit is no longer biting into anything when reassembled. it's the top screw on the starboard side. There are two screws that hold the end of the stanchion in a captive channel. There is no access to the rear, but I could cut away some in the anchor locker to see what's there, but I don't like "exploratory surgery". I was hoping someone has run into this and just retapped the backing plate or some other method. If anyone knows what ( if?) the backing material is, that would be a big help in determining my next move.
