Hello. I own a swing keel H22 and am having difficulty locating a supplier for the following parts. The V berth cabin has a small hatch on each side. These hatches/port holes are held closed by 3 finger knobs on each hatch. I have 3 of the 6 that should be replaced as they are broken. This means that effective seal from the weather is impossible. The other item is the Mansfield chemical toilet. The original has to be replaced but I cannot get a unit identical which I would prefer. It is 13 inches high. I have emailed Mike Thomas at Hunter Marine as suggested by our dealer here in the UK but not received a reply. Can any owner in the US help with advice on how or where I can get replacements Best Regards John Bond

Sealand Pottie
John, I replaced mine in my '82 h22 with a Sealand from Academy Sports & Outdoors here in Texas. Not sure if you have any of these stores where you are located but if not I am sure you can find the Sealand online. I think I paid about $80 for it. I'm not sure if the one that I replaced was original or not, but I was able to find this Sealand SaniPottie that was the same footprint as the Sealand I took out. The only problem is that it sits up a little higher and I had to replace the hold down brackets to accomidate this taller version. Also, it sits up too high to lay the cusion down on top of it. The simple solution is the pottie goes outside when I need to lay that cusion down. It seems to work very well and the wife approves! Wes

Hello Wes. Thank you for the reply. I have actually found a replacement unit. It is available here in the UK. A Thetford 345 cassett Porta Pottie. Only 12.5 inches tall so it fits under the cussion with about 1.5 inches to spare. The hold down brackets have had to be moved and I have improvised a little to hold the toilet firm. The main advantage of this model is that the clean water flush is operated by a piston pump and not the bellows that the old unit had. This means that the flush mechanism is much more robust. It cost £86.00 so was quite expensive. I think even with shipping costs it would have cost less from the USA. Glad you found a solution! I didn't pay enough attention to your original post to realize you are in the UK. I would love to hear how your H22 found it's way across the Atlantic! Lots of good discussion for H22s on here, but we could always use more. It's been a great boat for a beginner like me and I save a ton of $ by storing the boat on the trailer rather than in a slip. For now I am just a lake sailor but have goals of hitting the Keys and beyond in the near future. Are you sailing freshwater only? I consider myself fortunate to have spent some time in the UK and have very fond memories of my time there. In fact my brother-in-law will be moving to Lakenheath in the next few months and we look forward to visiting him. I just hope our dollar improves so we can afford it.
