OK boys and girls, I'm about to replace the centerboard downhaul line (cascade line?) on my 96 H19 and am confused with the drawing from the manual. The manual appears to show the haul line is to pull the centerboard up. An engineer had this boat before me and he may have modified the way it works. We have to haul on the line to make the centerboard come down and a cam cleat holds it in place; release the line and the board pops up as if it were spring loaded or constructed of somthing that floats. Found a sling lift near here for $60/hr. so I can drop the board out. I just want to make sure there are no suprises when I lift this thing off the trailer. Any ideas?

That is certainly different

Wow, thats backwards. I just replaced my line. Lifted the boat off the trailer with slings and the board just comes right down. unbolted the assemble in the cabin and it just plops right out. If your board floats, then there may be other differences as well. The board is fairly heavy maybe 40 to 60 lbs, and needs a winch to get it all the way up.
