Hello All, Comments on repairing cracks on the 170? I appear to have cracks around the cleats & mast step. Not sure of the seriousness of the cracks, but would enjoy hearing feedback from others that have attempted to repair without professional help. Pain in the neck or do-able? Unusaul occurence or known problem with the ACP boats? Thanks!

P.S. I called Hunter & received a PDF on "General ACP Repair", which explains the process of repairing cracks but it is by no means detailed for the inexperienced. I unfortunately need very detailed, step by step explanations along with pictures to match ( I know that is unfortuntate!). Any help out there on this?

Dale, this might help you.......http://www.sailing-obsession.com/ACPrepair.htm This is a H 216, Dennis did the repair work him self, he has also repair deep scratches and small holes on my H170....looks brand new to me ....... Glenn ps. lots of good post on 170's on his site.

Dale, Can't say that I have heard of the new lake in Standford. Good sailing lake I take it? I grew up sailing Percy Priest down in Nashville TN, then Barren River Lake. When I moved from Bowling Green to Lexington & decided to start sailing again, I was under the impression that Cave Run Lake in Morehead was the only one near me that was any count. I think Cave Run is about 10,500 acres or so.... love to hear the details about the new lake on 150. thanks Jon

wouldnt worry to much about the carcks just so you get them sttopped, drill a small hoe at the end about 1/8 inch deep so they dont get any bigger. then they need filled and sanded smooth need to get ahold of me on yahoo messanger and we can talk.
