h 41 fluoresent head light replacement with leds

i just replace the fluoresent T5 neon tubes with leds. but now after a few hours of working time is not working any more, do i still need the neon start to ligh up the leds? there is some tread to see how to fix it, there are not for sale any more

No, the ballast is not required for LED replacements for florescent lights.

I pulled mine apart and removed the ballasts. I then glued led tape lights to the reflective panels in the housing, wired, and reinstalled. They've worked great ever since. To be honest there was not a significant energy savings converting them to LED. The rest of the interior lighting on the other hand saves a lot of power after conversion.
