Looked at the opening picture and it appears that the person standing port aft on the high side is using the backstay as a hand hold. Hope that helps, and as always I defer to someone who actually owns a H40. Regards. Bruce. Neon Moon
The B & R rig made its appearence on production Hunters with the H-34 in 1983. The 31, 40, 28, and 45 all followed using similar rigs. Unlike current Hunters, they all had backstays.
