Hi I am looking at a H340 1998. Moving up from a H31. Can anyone tell me if you know of anything I should be aware of about the boat? Anyone that has experience sailing the boat please tell me your impression. My wife and I are cruisers/ day sailors not racers so I don't care about racing issues.
Thanks
Keith

We love our 2000 Hunter 340. A few specific things that come to mind, it can get overloaded in the stern, especially if the PO added an extra battery or two and the tanks are full. I see several around the bay with their transom riding in the water. I moved the batteries in mine to the settee over the keel. The mixing elbow on the Yanmar needed to be replaced at 10 years and just over 500 hours. The 27 HP is plenty. Like most Hunters with the B&R rig, it balances good with a roller furling main but can have a lot of weather helm with a standard main. Great cockpit for day sailing, with room for 8 and not feel crowded. I have not cruised in it, but we're on it almost every weekend

Thanks that is good to hear the Admiral wanted a larger cockpit so we had more room for guests. I appreciate the input.
