I am looking to replace the large non-opening plexiglass windows in my H-34. I hope to replace with smoke colored plexiglass, butIam worried about the original rubber gasket/trim on the windows. After 17 years, I feel that they should be replaced. Has anyone done this? Can anyone tell me where I might be able to pruchase these seals? Thanks, Mark

Didn't use the gasket
I replaced mine two years ago. Instead of replacing the gasket I a local glass shop glazed it with a silicone material. Has turned out better than the orginal gasket.

Dow Corning DC795
I am not sure if your ports are like my 1991 37.5 but I replaced all of the ports in her or should I say all of the plexiglass. The large non-opening ports were glued in using DC795 which I gather is used to secure skyscraper windows. It takes several days to cure properly and you need to use some small pieces of sealing tape to space the bent parts of the port away from the cabin opening which you are gluing to so as to not force the sealant out of the junction. If you need more info let me know.

I replaced mine and used silicon. No leaks after 4 months. I have also seen a retrofit using on sheet of 3/8 plexi over both openings. Frames are removed and plexi is siliconed and bolted with about 3 inches of overlap. Looks neat and clean, but changes appearence of boat.Inside edges of openings need to be trimed out, as frames are removed, leaving unfinished surface. Teak or plastic laminate can be used.

I've written it up a couple of times. Had a local outfit cut the tinted plexi for me, but had to trim myself using jigsaw with a pvc pipe blade, and finishing up with the dremel. Used Dow795 White to seal the frames in place, and Dow795 Black to seal the plexi in the frames. Our 83 had the metal frames. With them removed I stripped and re-painted. Looks fantastic and have had no leakage. As John stated, it would be much easier to purchase new plastic frames and install, but I wanted to keep the metal frames. I also did mine before he had found the source for them. Scott 83-H34 Island Hops
