H-30 Mast Bond

Can someone with an 1981 H-30 tell me where or what their mast is bonded to. Looking past the compression post metal beam, I can see a black wire, a little smaller than a pencil in diameter, coming from the mast, going to the port side and disappearing behind fiberglass. There are no wires to the keel bolts. How do I check to see if the mast and all are bonded?

Could the black wire you refer to be the coax from your mast mounted vhf antana leading to your vhf radio? Check the ant. hook up at the vhf see if it's the same wire. As far as the Bonding, you got me. I have to ask the same question myself. I just bought a Hunter 30. I haven't been on it since closing on 2/28/05. Waiting for the weather to break here in NJ.

not the antenna wire, I have located that one with no problem. I'll dig a little deeper this weekend hopefully. If you get to your boat soon, check and see if any keel bolts have wires attached to them. There must be a way to check with some sort of meter, to verify if the mast is grounded. Thanks..

Black wire

On my 81 the wire you describe is attached to the mast step on one end and the forward-most keel bolt on the other. Access can be gained by removing the small floor panel that includes the shower drain fitting.
