During Sandy, the rubrail on our H-260 came loose. It's glued on. What adhesive do I use to glue it back.

The rubrail is a two part. The base is screwed on in place. IF that was affected, you will need to to remove the insert or exterior piece which is pressed fit into the base.
On the base, you will need to remove the screws and clean off the caulk. At this time, go ahead and inspect the hull to deck joints and if any marine putty has fallen out particurlarly on the transom, clean out using a dremel and then reapply a two part epoxy called Water Tite. Please fill in any unused screw holes that you might find at the transom. YOu can use water tite or 5200. When putting the screws back in on the base, make sure you apply 5200 on the hull over the screw holes and some on the threads of the screw. When done, if you have pulled the second section of the rubrail out completely, start in the middle or at the bow and work it in. This is easy. First insert the top portion and then using a flat head screw driver, insert the lower section forcing it into the retaining groove of the base rubrail.

I hope this makes sense but this is the way I fixed many 260 rub rails but I do not know the extent of your damages. It may be that the rub rail insert is simply pulled out and all you have to do is do what I said with the screw driver. Any other questions, email me at davecondon@mindspring.com and reference H260 as I delelt all junk emails.

I know this boat better than anyone.
