Any one know what the brake and axle regulations are for the state of PA? Trailer has dual axles but only brakes on the front axle. Is this permissible? Any help appreciated as need to trail it and refinish the rusted steel sections. Thanks.

unfortunately, the trailer is required to have brakes on both axles and yes the brakes can be added to that axle on the trailer. Sold many boats into PA and that is what was required years back unless changed. Simply call PA DMV and they can advise.

Dave,
Thanks much for your help. Do the additional brakes come as a kit and do you happen to know a good source and an approximate cost?
I appreciate your help.

IT has been some time but if you will look on the backside of the axle, see if there is a place for hydraulic lines to go to. IF seen then you can add. If you do not know what to do, go to a travel trailer or RV outfit as they do that all the time unless you have a trailer place nearby. Parts can be ordered on line or obtained at stores catering to trailers or even West Marine.
