H 240 swing keel lift line repl. 23.5 260 and 26

The Swing Keel uphaul release/uphaul line is nearly done. Has anyone replaced this important line while the boat is on the trailer?Has anyone gone to a smaller line than the stock equipment? I get a lot of binding on my line when hauling up (I need to use the winch)thanks.Ken

Ken, read my post

under the previous thread for "centerboard line replacement". Mine was real stiff also before it broke because the outer braid was worn through at the lower roller causing the inner core to slide inside the outer instead of rolling around the pulley/roller. Now I can raise the board with one hand.

about 8 topics below yours. ( I don't have much luck with archives either ) In any case, the centerboard must be dropped to get acess to the up-haul attachment point and lower roller. At the base of the mast compression post in cabin is a single bolt under a plastic trim cover. This must be removed to drop C.B. If your trailer has bunks under the C.B. you'll have to have boat lifted off of trailer to gain clearance. I'm eventually going to re work the bunks so I can do the job on the trailer.Good Luck!
