Has anyone attempted modifying the rudder on a Hunter 23 so that it is completely out of the water while at the slip/dock?

Dave: By any chance are you planning to race in the TransMonroe on March 3 & 4? It will be held on Lake Monroe (natch) right in downtown Sanford, less than 10 min from I-4. The distance race around the lake will be on Sat and a couple of shorter "round the buoys" races will be held on Sunday. There is a modest H23 fleet. If anybody else is doing the "tourist thing" in central Florida that weekend, stop by and say hello. Peter S/V Raven

Hello Peter

Peter, I'm not much of a racer and more importantly I don't have a trailer. WindSong is kept in the water. Thanks for the interest. Actually, when I bought WindSong It was moored at Lake Monroe. It's very much a salt water boat now. Keep in touch. Dave Laing S/V WindSong H-23

Back to you Dave

I'm not much of a racer either, but a race every so often helps sharpen my skills. I am rebuilding my trailer as time and $ allow, so it looks like I will be hanging around Lake Monroe for a few more months. I may move the boat to Cocoa or Titusville in the fall so I can spend more time on the ICW/Banana River and in the ocean. If you are ever in the area, stop by and say hello. My e-mail address is oneprof@magicnet.net. Peter
