Would like to see how much interest is here abt another gulf coast get together soon. Our First was a Huge success i thought and had a GREAT turnout considering freezing rain.. lol.

How abt suggestions for a place. Fly Creek has changed managment and food is MUCH better as well as service. New owner has spent lots of $$$ remodeling. Also I thought abt River shack on Dog River under bridge because we could have a sail in also for over nighters and places close by to drop the hook.

Whatcha think?

Work is kind of complicated right now, but if I can make it, I will. Last time was a blast, and the wife enjoyed it too. I like Fly Creek, but open to new experiences.

Depends on timing

Chuck,
If the timing works I will be there. Planning on heading south around the 11th of Feb. If it can work with my schedule, I'll be there.

A Few More Ideas

A bit further east if there are a number of folk coming from this way:

Lulu's
Pirates Cove
Florabama

or on the otherside of Mobile

Huck's

or if folks want to come way out this way I can make arraingements at our Yacht Club here in Fort Walton. Probably much further than most will want to travel but an option

Would Like to Come

Like everyone else, it depends on the timing. I keep my boat on Fowl River, so anything on Mobile Bay or Pirates Cove would work for me. When it gets warmer; Sand Island would be fun.

I'm planning my first sail "adventure" outside Lake Pontchartrain and to the MS coast (Gulfport/Ship Island) for April 15 - 19, but like everyone else, if the timing's right and the area too (I'm out of Mandeville, LA.) I tag along too!

Great idea Chuck! The last get together was really fun. Just like some of the others said, if work allows, I'll be there. I like Pirates Cove. BrianW

The “Horseshoe” on Horn ?? easier for us folks from the Poncho-Train area..
I’ll make it if the other constraints don’t stop me.. Last year, the forecast weather looked a bit messy .. I will stay tuned in !

Chuck - We're in! Maybe we'll have the new schooner back at Fly Creek by then, just returned from sailing her down north of Clearwater, very pleased with her. Current plans are to sail her back to Mobile Bay end of February. Do you have tentative dates in mind?
