I know many of us stop off at White City just past St. Joe. Free electric and water is a nice bonus to having a safe dock to tie up to. There was a Mom and Pops place that had hand dipped ice cream and a few supplies that closed when the owner died. We are staying here tonight and the store is open and has a lot of supplies, Hunts Brothers Pizza, a deli that makes sandwiches and wings, stays open until 8 pm now, breakfast items cooked in the mornings, and of course the hand dipped ice cream. This stop over place has always been a favorite of ours when we are out cruising, it is really improved now.

Just Look for the Bridge

I've often looked and thought that would be a good place to stop. St Andrews to Dog Island or Carrabelle is almost a marathon of a day.

I have wondered though are wakes from barges or the big power boat guys who can't decide weather to get up on plane or plod along at hull speed an issue there? I guess at night there is very little traffic

We have stayed there about 8 times over the last 5 years. We have never been waked day or night. A huge barge came by this morning and much to my surprise he observed the no wake zone. We did however wake up to some voices about four years ago. Someone asking his buddy if he thought this guy would mind if I steeped on his boat. I stuck my head out the hatch and there were 101 Bass boat all tied together about 7 deep. Several tired to me. I told him I did not mind them tying to me but do not come aboard my boat. He said no problem. Espn was there to cover a big Baas tourney. They announced they had 101 entries. It was lit up like Christmas with all the red and green lights. They sent them out 5 at a time at dawn.

Talked to the owner while getting breakfast. He said he is losing money with the store. It is a Shaneadd it is a great lay over point.
