We've been kicking around the idea of a Gulf Pilothouse. I'm thinking for here in Puget Sound it would open up some sailing days where I don't feel like sitting out in the rain. The question: what do you think of these boats?
...the Gulf 29 is a pilot house on a Newport 28 hull. The Gulf 32 was designed keel up as a pilot house. They are totally different inside. I really like the 32. So much, I came within an inch of having one custom built for us before my wife saw the Hunter Vision 32 which we ended up buying and sailing for nine years.
When we were in Mexico last year, a fellow in back of us had a beautiful 32 with solar and wind assist, watermaker, and all the rest of the goodies. He loved that he could sail from inside on longer voyages and liked the soft ride of the sharp forefoot hull and cut away full keel.
I'd opt for the 32 if you can't tell. Very nice boat. Don't expect to win any races though. See this link. The tabs are on the top of the page: http://capitalyachts.info/
