I have a 25 ft.boat with an 8 hp outboard.I am in the process of rewiring the boat. Having good luck but I need some suggestions on what to use for a ground since I have no inboard engine block to use.It has been suggested to use copper screen or steel bars also does a paticular type of ground work better for a ship to shore radio?

What kind of keel ?
If you have a lead keel, that would work. You could attach a ground wire to one of the keel bolts.

Just don't ground the keel in the mud!
Whaddya tryin to ground, a radio? Go tp the Neg side of yer 12 volt battery. If going to the keel bolts, make sure the entire yacht is bonded and zinced or with and aluminum yacht magged.
