Just installed a Bronze Thru Hull transducer Should it be grounded ?
do not see any info in the paperwork about a ground.
All it says is don't paint it with a copper based paint.
would think it should be,

Assuming you are talking about a powered depth sounder transducer, don't paint it with traditional anti-fouling. It is 'grounded' by virtue of the neg ground wire completing the 12 v circuit.

Or are you referring to a seacock?

Dang it. I read "bronze thru-hull" and didn't register the "transducer" part.

So all my info re: seacocks was totally unnecessary.

DOH!

Hey, if the install instructions for your depth unit don't say anything about grounding, I would guess you don't need it.
