Friends: I just up-graded from a 27 foot Catalina to a 30 foot Catalina. We had the 27 for over 30 years, and sailed every season on Lake Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Question: what ground tackle would you chaps recommend for the 30 footer? She is much more boat than the 27, so I wouuld appreciate your suggestions. Many thanks, Robert

I could tell you the tackle that you absolutely must have for a boat your size but I'd be drowned out by another dozen members who would violently disagree with me 
. And they in turn would be drowned out by ............................ you get the idea.
Just too many variables to state which anchor you should have for your area. Take some time and wade through the search menu to come up with reams of material on ground tackle.
Myself ............ a 15 kg. claw, 50' of 5/16 chain, and 300' of 1/2" three strand nylon. We anchor in some deep water on the west coast.

Just bought a 35lb Mantus for my boat. Have yet to take it out of the box but plan on giving it a lot of use in the future..
